San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 4, 2008 -- Academy of Art University is partnering with Fabrica for an art exhibition, lecture and student scholarship opportunity. The Academy will be welcoming Enrico Bossan and Erik Ravelo, the editorial and creative directors of European publication Colors magazine and Babak Payami, the acclaimed film director at Fabrica, to present on the leading design magazine's latest issue, Money.
Academy of Art University has teamed with companies in the United States such as Electronic Arts (EA) for their hit game The Sims as well as Ford Motor Company for a project featuring the Ford Focus. By collaborating with an international communication and design center, Academy of Art University extends its commitment to providing a global curriculum for its students.
On April 15 and 16, Enrico Bossan, Erik Ravelo and Babak Payami will hold portfolio reviews of Academy of Art University students who are interested in joining Fabrica's creative team in Italy. Candidates chosen by the selection committee will be offered a one-year, full scholarship to live and study in Treviso, Italy and work with the creative team of Fabrica.
Fabrica has developed numerous campaigns for multicultural nonprofit organizations such as the UN, the FAO (UN Food and Agricultural Organization), Amnesty International and more. Fabrica has also co-produced a number of films including Tropical Malady, which won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
Academy of Art University's 79 Gallery will host a photography exhibition featuring Colors 73/Money and an art installation of a giant podium made of flattened issues of Colors, where the magazine cover is a 100-dollar bill. The exhibit questions the role of money and the relationship society has with it. The exhibition opens on April 17 at 6 PM. Preceding the exhibition opening will be a lecture about the global economy and the latest issue of Colors by Enrico Bossan, Erik Ravelo and Babak Payami. The lecture starts at 5 PM and takes place at the Theatre at 79 New Montgomery, San Francisco, CA 94105.
Another Bay Area art exhibition, Colors: Past and Present, featuring all 73 original issues of Colors magazine, will also be on view at the San Francisco Italian Cultural Institute from April 18 - May 17, 2008. The Italian Cultural Institute is located at 425 Washington Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94111.
